March 29, 2018

Happy Passover! Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who came this morning to set up for our Preschool Sedar.

Welcome Charlie in our 3 year old class. Be sure that you say hi to his parents Becky and Chris.

Don’t forget:  NO SCHOOL TOMORROW, 3/30 AND FRIDAY, 4/6.

DO NOT SEND LUNCH MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY, 4/2-4/6.

DO NOT SEND WATER BOTTLES OR SIPPY CUPS DURING PASSOVER.

Since you do not need to send lunches or water bottles PLEASE WASH THEM NEXT WEEK.

We have noticed that water bottles have mold growing around the caps. Water bottles need to be washed daily.

Thank you again to our families that were so kind to participate in Teacher Appreciation Day.

Teachers loved their breakfasts, lunches and their special gifts!

NO CALI-KIDS  DANCE CLASS ON TUESDAY, 4/3.

Music with Wendee has it’s last class on 4/4. A new session will be starting on 4/11. Please look for the registration form in your child’s folder next week.

We are all busy thinking about matzoh for the next 10 days, but pizza orders for April need to be into me by Thursday, April 6th. Pizza will resume on Wednesday, 4/11. April has 3 weeks for pizza.

I have been asked to remind parents that Handicap parking is for Handicap people only. Please do not park in the Handicap spots to drop off or pick up your children. Children should not be left in a car while dropping off or picking up.

Fall registration is now open to the community. If you have not turned in your registration forms your child is not registered. If you need another form or can’t remember if you turned yours in, please let me know.

Summer registration is now open. Please return your summer registration forms so our teachers may begin to plan for their classes.

If you would be interested in having a bake sale at the Boutique and have time to bake here at CBS please let me know.

I recently read a terrible article regarding the number of children being poisoned by detergent pods. In 2017, 12,000 calls were made to Poison Control due to children eating detergent pods. Please remember detergent is poison as is most cleaning supplies. Please keep these items out of the reach of children.

The exciting news is the girls bathroom is almost complete! It looks beautiful and we are very excited. Once the girls bathroom is complete, the construction will begin on the boys.

Spring is here. Mountain lions, coyotes, bears are coming out for food and water. Rattlesnakes too! Please keep an eye out before you allow your children to go out to play. Keep an eye on your flower gardens, storage areas, etc. Snakes like shady, cool areas.

Happy Pesach! Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water as you eat your matzoh.

Saturday night be sure to turn your clocks ahead one hour! “Spring Forward”. Please change the batteries in your smoke alarms too.

MONDAY, MARCH 12TH IS OUR TEACHER IN SERVICE DAY. THIS IS A PUPIL FREE DAY.

This week many of our children are coming to school with very green/yellow noses again. It may be allergies, but, perhaps it’s a sinus infection. If your teachers are telling you this, you may need to take your child into their pediatrician. If it’s allergies, they will sign a note telling us that is what it is. .Adults can take care of themselves with a cold, but we cannot have children in school with one. We work hard to keep our children and staff healthy. I know it’s hard to take a day off from work, but it’s for your child’s health to be at home. We know that coughs can linger, so we try to teach the children to cough into their elbow.

Teacher Avery will be in the week of 3/12 to help in the classrooms.

Calikids Dance begins a new session on Tuesday. Have you turned in your registration? Your child will not be able to attend without your registration.

Have you heard the news? Our bathrooms are being remodeled! The work begins on Monday, March 19th. Of course, there will be a few inconveniences, but when the work is complete, it will all be worth it! We are anticipating this work to last 4-6 weeks.

Did you receive your fall registration? Please turn your paperwork in a.s.a.p. as I have several new families waiting to register. If you need another form, please let me know. Just telling me that your child will be attending is not enough. Each time you refer someone to our school, you will receive $100.00 off your tuition when your referral has been in our school two months.

Did you order pizza? You may always join in. Pizza orders need to be in to me by the end of school on Friday. Please let me know if you are able to pick up pizzas on Wednesday mornings.

June 10th is our Prom. At the prom we hold a silent auction. We look for children’s items (birthday parties, new clothes, toys, etc) as well as restaurants, hotel stays, theater/sports tickets, markets, massages, adult services-haircuts,manicures, etc. If you are able to help, please see me for the donation letter to hand out. Next time you go for a haircut, please ask if they can help out.

Would you be interested in receiving  a fresh challah each week for Shabbat? We would need to have a minimum of 15 challahs ordered each week for this plan to work.  If we do start this program, it will begin after Passover.
